General parking management

Cars parking on both sides of a suburban street.

In most cases this refers to more (sophisticated) on-street, and in some cases off-street, parking management. This includes measures whose general impact is one of managing demand by targeting supply on particular users.
By means of the following examples:

  • Introduction of paid parking
  • Extension of paid parking to new areas
  • Increasing parking fees
  • Reducing, relocation or restraining parking supply (including via Park and Ride)
  • Multiple use of parking space
  • The limitation of maximum parking time
  • The differentiation of parking tariffs and permits for certain target groups e.g. residents, business, shoppers
  • Any combination of these above measures
